I have been to Venice and Verona on several occasions. I have done the Verona to Venice by train journey as wells as landed in both of the cities main airports I have also had the pleasure of driving in Verona so in this post I wanted to share tips on how to get from Verona to Venice and vice versa. Whether you want to do a day trip from Verona to Venice or Venice to Verona to visit the Shakespearean city below are tips on the best ways to travel between the two cities.

 

Both are among the best cities to visit in Italy. I have stayed in both cities and would highly recommend at least a couple of days each but if you are short on time, a day trip is a well worth it introduction to both cities. Knowing how to travel between the two cities gives you flexibility when looking for flights arriving in Verona or Venice Maropolo.

How to get from Verona to Venice By train

 

There are a lot of ways to to get from Verona to Venice. Both cities are beautiful and well worth visiting. Below are details on how to get from Verona to Venice by train.  By far the best way to get from Verona to Vernice is by train as there are faster and cheap trains. There are at least 50 trains running throughout the day.

 

There are are a couple of routes providing services between Verona to Venice but just bear in mind the above as some trains to Venice take 54 minutes versus the ones that take 2 hours. Below are the train operators running services between with a few of these offering trains between Venice and Verona. • Trenitalia – Trains are 1h 27 minutes or 2hrs and 13minutes and both services cost £9 
• Italy – Deutsche Bahn(DB) – Trains are 1hr 10 minutes and cost £14
• Italo – Trains are 1hr 9 minutes and cost £16
• Trenitalia Frecciarossa – Trenitalia’s high-speed Frecce services – Trains are 58 minutes and cost £21

 

The train service range is also wide with the first train leaving from Verona Porta Nuova at 05:21 am and the last at last, is 22:21 while there are the trains run over 50 times each day throughout the week. With a train service, you are free from all the hassles of finding parking place area and intentions of paying for car parking; you can enter directly into Venice without having to think about car packing or directions around a city that is easily walkable. How To Get To From Verona To Venice By Bus

 

Environmental friendly bus travel is another idea for your way to get to Venice from Verona. The shortest distance from Verona to Venice is 113 kilometer with buses. The average bus duration time is about 2 hours with some taking 3 hours. While the fastest bus goes there takes more than 1 hours and 25 hours. The most effective thing with the buses is their cheap rates; you can even reach Venice from Verona is £5 and some start from £9 depending on the time of departure and service.  There are about 3 bus companies serving Vernon to Venice journies. These are below.

 

Majority of the buses are comfortable and have USB plugs, free access to Wi-Fi, Power plugs and a great luggage policy.

There are five companies serving this route:

• Flixbus – bus tickets start from £5 but the are only a couple of services running during the day. The bus from Verona Porta Nuova Station to Venezia, Tronchetto station.
• Regionale
• Regionale Veloce
• GoOpti – Buses by Go-Opti leave from Verona St di Autobus to Venice Marco Polo Airport and are £54 and take 1 hour and 30 minutes. Perfect for those that want to get from Venice Airport to Verona or travel from Verona to Venice Airport by bus. There is also a slower service that takes 3 hours and tickets are not that much cheaper at £47. The good thing is that they are frequent from 3am all the way until 11pm. 

 

 

 

 

How To Get To From Verona To Venice By Car

 

Even though the majority of Venice is commutable only by vaporettos and Venice taxis you can still drive to Venice but you have to park your car as you arrive on the Venitian Island when you come off the SR-11. There are at least 3-5 car parks by the port. As you don’t need a car in Venice there is really no point driving to Venice.

 

The drive from Verona to Venice takes about 1 hour 30 minutes but as it passes through the same stretch of access just before the trains split from SR11 road to Venice Santa Lucia, you might as well take the train. This also means you can explore without having to waste money pay for a rental car in Italy that will only be parked while you explore.
